Take Your Authority

When Jesus ascended into Heaven after being with his disciples for 40 days, He left them with a powerful message, as recorded in Matthew 28:

18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

And again in Mark 16:

17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; in my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

I can hear the Spirit of the Lord saying to the Body of Christ in these last days, “You have the power and the authority to pull it up and to shut it down.” In other words, Jesus has given us His Name, His Authority, and His Blood to pull up from the root bondages to which people are ensnared, such as drugs, alcohol, lying, fornication, division, or bitterness—any type of sin! We (and that includes you) have the authority to shut the devil up. We have the authority to shut down his plans in our schools, our nation, our cities, and even our government. The devil does not run the show; believers do! The devil does not dictate the final outcome; we do! The devil does not tell us where to go or what to do; we tell him!

Luke 10:19 says it this way: Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Therefore, you need not fear that scoundrel—not one bit! We need not fear what he will do in our churches, our homes, or our schools. All we need to do is submit to God, and resist the devil by taking our authority over him, and he will flee (James 4:7). The devil has been using fear to torment the saints of God into silence. No More! We will not remain quiet. We will not be lulled into a deep sleep. We will not be duped by the devil anymore; instead, we will rise up, renew our minds with the Word of God, and by faith declare what God says about our families, our children, our nation, our schools, and our government.

No more will we sit hopelessly by while some drag queen comes into our schools or public libraries and tells our young, innocent children stories that tantalize their imaginations against God. We cannot afford to fear distress, or avoid confrontations, or concern ourselves with causing commotions while our children are targeted by some godless organization with the purpose of turning them from God. Away with the fears or excuses the devil uses to lull us into silence! Use your authority to shut the devil up, in Jesus’ Name!

It is time for us to stir up some righteous indignation into our nation and cities. It is time for us to irritate the devil and his imps until he turns loose our sons and daughters. It is time to start a holy controversy between good and evil. Will you answer the call to no longer sit back and remain silent? Will you answer the call to be His voice, crying out in the wilderness, urging people to repent because of the soon coming of Jesus? Will you join with me by taking authority over everyday situations that are stirred up by the devil? Will you pray for our children to stand strong against the enemy’s lies? Will you seek God for your part in his Great Commission regarding soul-winning?

Or will you be content to let the devil do anything, say anything, and bring more havoc into our nation?

The choice is yours, but please do the right thing!

God bless you, as you continue to hear His Voice!
